by Josh Bays, on Jan 19, 2015 8:22:00 AM

The United States continues to reignite its manufacturing industry. Of the 7,300 capital projects across all industries publically announced or completed in 2014 in the U.S., Site Selection Group estimates that 57% were manufacturing projects. This represents a slightly higher portion of capital projects as compared to 2013 when 55% of projects were in the production sector.

Manufacturing_24824236“We saw U.S. manufacturing grow in 2013 and again in 2014. This indicates that the United States is continuing to be a good place for manufacturers to do business,” said David Brandon, Senior Vice President, Site Selection Group.

The increase in domestic capital projects is having a profound effect on economic development in the U.S. Those communities with the greatest resources, whether it be workforce, infrastructure, economic incentives or quality real estate offerings, are best positioned to win projects.

To demonstrate the types of large manufacturing plant projects announced or completed, Site Selection Group put together a list of the Top 20 U.S. Manufacturing Projects of 2014. These projects were chosen for their mix of capital invested and jobs created.
