The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes is a 100-mile bike ride that takes place every year in Saratoga Springs, New York. This past weekend, Jeffrey Sheehan completed the Ride and successfully raised over $6,000 for T1D research.

The ride's route took participants through some of the most beautiful scenery in upstate New York. The ride began at Saratoga Race Course and wound its way through the countryside, passing through towns like Corinth, Warrensburg, and Pottersville before reaching Waterford at its northernmost point.

As a Type 1 Diabetic, Jeffrey has an intimate understanding of the challenges that people with diabetes face. He has raised over $20K for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and over $30K for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Each one of these involved either a 100-mile ride or an Olympic Distance Triathlon.

As many as 1.5 million Americans are at risk for T1D, and one in every 400 Americans is living with the disease. JDRF Ride isn't just a bike ride: it's an experience where thousands of riders come together from all over the world to make new friendships and enjoy the unparalleled camaraderie of the Ride community with a shared mission to raise money to help end T1D. To date, JDRF Ride has raised over $60 million for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

Donations are still being accepted and will help continue the goal to bring life-changing treatments and therapies to the millions of people living with T1D until a cure is found.
