AI hiring gives offices a short-term boost in SF, New York, and Seattle. Jeffrey D. Eiting adds caution.

CoStar reports that a rise in AI-related hiring is supporting office demand in several major tech hubs, at least in the near term. CBRE’s latest “Scoring Tech Talent” findings point to more in-office requirements for AI roles and a tapering of fully remote postings.

Site Selection Group Senior Vice President Jeffrey D. Eiting weighed in, noting that AI growth is “very fluid” and that “for every company growing, there’s another one being acquired,” which makes long-term office demand harder to predict outside San Francisco.

Why it matters: AI is fueling activity today, but portfolio strategy still needs a careful read on role mix, market fundamentals, and consolidation risk. We help clients pressure-test those assumptions before they lock in footprints.
