Mexico has become and is expected to remain, a competitive location for manufacturing and distribution companies seeking to serve the United States market. Although Mexico has experienced rapid growth in a variety of industries, the aerospace, automotive, electronics, and home appliance, and medical device industries are rapidly clustering south of the border. A variety of Fortune 500 companies manufacture and distribute goods in Mexico today.
Although Mexico successfully serves global markets, its proximity to the United States is a strategic logistics advantage. Since 70% of Mexico’s exports are destined for the U.S., choosing a plant location with adequate border crossing access is essential.
